Elena first discovered yoga almost ten years ago, when she joined yoga classes in secondary school. Fascinated by the abilities and especially the healing processes of the human body, she remained interested in yoga and bodywork in general and studied Hara Shiatsu from Tomas Nelissen at the Hara Shiatsu School in Vienna, Austria. Thanks to the holistic principles of this massage technique, she was able to gain a deeper understanding of Asian philosophy, such as Taoism and Zen Buddhism, as well as a basic knowledge of the principles of TCM (traditional Chinese medicine) and yoga, which she developed a deep passion for during these three years. Elena then followed her dream of travelling. She joined different yoga classes in Central America and later in Thailand. Her natural curiosity enabled her to experience various yoga styles such as Yin Yoga, Luna Yoga, Acro Yoga, Kundalini Yoga and, of course, the classical styles of Ashtanga, Hatha, Vinyasa Flow and Iyengar. Elena loves to combine and to find connections between all her interests. It is her desire to gain a variety of knowledge that led her to 200hrs Multi-Style Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh, India, which she completed in March 2015. Excited about her growing understanding of yogic philosophy and life style, Elena is more than happy to have joined the Kanga Yoga Team and to incorporate the Kanga Style into her own practice and teaching. She feels honored by the possibility to share her knowledge and to help people on their way to a more balanced and harmonised life.
