Saghar (Nasrien) Amozgar, Persian in origin. came to the UK in 2000 after eight years of study in India, completing her PhD in Psychology and her journey of discovery into yoga, meditation, and traditional Ayurvedic massage.

Saghar studied Ayurvedic Yoga Massage under the expert guidance of Swami Varidi, who trained with the renowned Kusum Modak herself. Saghar qualified in Pune in 1999 and continued to work closely with Swami Varidi, organising his courses in Europe and assisting him with their delivery in the UK.

Saghar was fortunate to study in Pune City in the neighbourhood of the Iyengar ashram. Her study of yoga continued at the Sivananda yoga centre in Kerala, where she completed her teacher training course in 2004. Since then, Saghar has taught many classes, including classes for Muslim women’s community centres, children and open classes for all. Her recent qualification as a Yoga Health Coach enables her to guide and support people to establish ten healthy habits of Ayurveda daily and enhance their well-being.

Saghar established the Ayurvedic Yoga Association in 2004. Her passion is sharing her experiences and insights gained over the years of bodywork, not only through her therapeutic work with individuals, but also by running regular coaching programs, workshops and professional standard training courses for practitioners to spread this fantastic ancient technique around the globe.
